Stereo: Re-channeled Classic Tee
When stereo took off in the early 1960s, labels had plenty of mono recordings and no way back in time to redo them. So they reprocessed them. Capitol called it Duophonic, and Columbia printed "electronically re-channeled for stereo" on the sleeve. The trick was splitting and delaying the signal. It was not stereo. It was a committed try.
