New Orleans Jazz Classic Tee
Buddy Bolden, a cornetist who played New Orleans in the 1890s, is often credited as the first jazz musician, though no recording of him survives. The first jazz record was made in New York in 1917 by the Original Dixieland Jass Band, a group of New Orleans musicians. The city got there first and got recorded second.
