Sousa: American Marches Classic Tee
Sousa composed "The Stars and Stripes Forever" on Christmas Day 1896, reportedly in his head aboard a ship home from Europe after learning that his band's manager had died, and wrote the notes down once he landed. Congress made it the national march in 1987. Some of the best-known American music was written at sea.
