wagner: die walküre classic tee
Richard Wagner1813 – 1883
Die Walküre premiered in Munich in June 1870, reportedly against Wagner's wishes, since he wanted the four operas staged together. The design comes from a century-old edition of the opera and shows a snake eating its own tail, which suits a cycle that keeps coming back around.
