Ravel: Daphnis et Chloé Classic Tee
Ravel called Daphnis et Chloé a "choreographic symphony," scored for orchestra and wordless chorus. Diaghilev commissioned it for the Ballets Russes, who premiered it at the Théâtre du Châtelet on June 8, 1912, with Nijinsky dancing Daphnis. It got only two performances that season. Orchestras have more than made up for it since.
