Erik Satie1866 – 1925

Satie's Vexations, from around 1893, is a short, slow page with an instruction to play it 840 times in a row, after preparing in the deepest silence by serious immobilities. John Cage organized the first complete performance in New York in 1963: ten pianists, eighteen hours and forty minutes. Wear it to something shorter.

how to measure

first things first: grab a shirt you already love the fit of, a measuring tape, and a flat surface. lay the shirt flat, smooth it out, and compare its measurements to the chart.

length: from the highest point of the shoulder, where it meets the collar, straight down to the hem.
chest: straight across the shirt, 1" below the armholes, from side seam to side seam. it's measured flat, so double it to compare with your own chest.
sleeve: from the center back of the neck, over the shoulder point, to the end of the sleeve (to the end of the cuff on sweatshirts).
