In 1939 delegates from five countries met at Broadcasting House in London and agreed that the A above middle C should vibrate 440 times a second, settling an argument musicians had been having for centuries. The standards bodies made it official in 1955 and again in 1975. A440, set in a sharp high-contrast serif, for anyone who notices when the oboe is off.

how to measure

first things first: grab a shirt you already love the fit of, a measuring tape, and a flat surface. lay the shirt flat, smooth it out, and compare its measurements to the chart.

length: from the highest point of the shoulder, where it meets the collar, straight down to the hem.
chest: straight across the shirt, 1" below the armholes, from side seam to side seam. it's measured flat, so double it to compare with your own chest.
sleeve: from the center back of the neck, over the shoulder point, to the end of the sleeve (to the end of the cuff on sweatshirts).

All measurements are of the garment laid flat, from our spec sheet. Allow a little tolerance either way.
